Song ... dari sudut mata ...

Just got back from Song. From the jetty we proceeded to Nur Islamic Cafe opposite the hotel. It was raining heavily during our journey back from Song to Sibu. This morning we took the 8.30 am boat to Song. Couldn't really see the 'scenic' Sg Rejang as half of the window is tinted. En Raman 'was seen' to be excited''' sitting beside a cute and fair sarawakian lady.... Sorry la En raman dah ada anak 2 daaa... She was heading to Song as
well to meet her hubby. Cute gak anak2 dia ni ....

Nothing much to do in the boat... The kungfu actions from Jackie Chan's movie DVD did not seem to attract most of the passengers and me. I was trying to close my eyes. I finally felt asleep..

We arrived Song at about 11.00 am. En RW was there together with En HB. I was actually 'touched' with what has been done by RW and HB and ppl involved in Song. They were at Song since Monday ensuring things to be under controlled and closely monitored. Once the event has been called off, they need to inform the community, the DO, the media, the govt agencies in Sibu etc etc... When we came, the supplier were busy mending the canopies and stage.

It happened that we met the DO. A nice man with a solid intention to bring basic infra to Song and its community. According to him, he is trying his best to build roads to connect Song and Kanowit which is merely around 43 km. But since Song is an 'island' (separated by Sg Rejang) , materials and logistic are the main problems that need to be significantly highlighted. We were further informed that to build a normal 1km 2 way road would cost a bomb! .... believe it or not RM10Million!!!. Despite all these, hasil bumi di Song masih dibawa keluar ... loggings are still widely practiced in Song...

So the event akan diteruskan esok but not the launching. Tomorrow would be a community event between BSN and the community in Song. The DO will deliver his speech in Iban. Hopefully when we come again for the real launching, the community and the relevant authority will still support us. So, instead of official launching, the event is now considered as one of our CSR activities. Cool huh?

Before we left Song, sempat la jugak makan di kedai favourite Bos di Song "Nasi Ayam Chemong' ... Looks nice... not to my taste actually...
Esok datang lagi....
