How I wish...

This morning we went to Song again for 'BSN Bersama Komuniti Daerah Song'. We took the 7.00 am boat and arrived around 9.15 am. By 11.00 the event started. Mr Tan (B**'s PN) was ushered to the stage for a brief welcoming speech. The DO was present together with Ketua Kaum, Tuai Rumah, Councelor, PDRM and ketua-ketua jabatan from the nearest government agencies. Since the launching has been postponed, Mr Tan, as the rep from B** had to apologise to the community with a hope that the during its launching which is scheduled after Raya will be fully supported by the people and the community.

The DO, Gallong ak Luang then took his turn in delivering speech. To get his message right, he spoke in Iban dialect; commonly understood by the community in Song. More or less the gist of the speech is to call the community in Song to fully support B**. The existence of B** in Song is well accepted and applauded by the community. He even promoted the SSP and other products as well.

After lunch, I had the opportunity to approach one of warga Song. I had the urge to know how do they feel and how was the reception towards B** opening a branch in Song.

This is Noriene Sameon, Jururawat Bertauliah and currently working at Klinik Kesihatan Song.

Talking to her, I concluded that she appreciates the effort undertaken by B** to set up and open a branch.

When asked what did she hope for Song community. Her short and confident answer was "kalau boleh kami mahu jalanraya dibina di tempat kami". She has been working in a clinic that has limited medical equipments. Whenever there is an emergency, they have to take an hour boat ride to reach Kanowit (if its at night the journey will be longer). From Kanowit they will drive to Sibu, which is about an hour journey. I can 'see' the importance of 'jalanraya' to people at Song.

Closer to home, I approached B**'s Polis Bantuan who has been stationed at Song for about 4 months (from its first operation in April till 21 August 2009). Hardynata is not local and he is from Sibu. According to him he has been doing the same routine for about 4 months now. Giving a room on the 2nd floor of the branch building, he and the rest (around 4 of them (the staff - male) start their day at 8.00 am at the branch. Start working, lunch and finished around 6pm. At 7pm they will go to the library (the one and only) to catch up on news, what's happening around the world, celebrity gossips etc.. At 8pm they will have dinner (most of the time in the room). That's it!

When he first came, he didnt know what to do! Now, it seems that he can manage his 'life' in Song better. I wonder how would I react if I were to be stationed in Song. To me this is survival. You need to have the courage. I salute him for having one!

This is the District Officer. A man with vision to bring development for people in Song. According to him under the federal budget, the allocation for 'jalanraya' for Song is NIL. Then I got the clue. That was the reason why the DO, the MP and ppl in Song really looking ahead for M**'s presence. This is the main issue that they want to highlight.

This was my 3rd time travel to Song. I have seen the place, the people, the food, the environment and their life. My insight said that they have been 'neglected' and their rights have been unintentionally 'deprived'. I could see the students travel to schools by small boat. Seeing the boat, I wont ever let my children (if I were the parent) go to school with the 'unconvincing condition' of the boat. They have no choice but they are happy...

How I wish if Song can be a place to 'heal' those ppl who do not know how to appreciate freedom and development....

How I wish the relevant leaders can spend their precious time to be here with the people, 'see and feel' their struggles and endless efforts to stay 'alife'...

How I wish this is not the price of development paid to some community like people in Song

How I wish ..... and how I wish .....

Song ... dari sudut mata ...

Just got back from Song. From the jetty we proceeded to Nur Islamic Cafe opposite the hotel. It was raining heavily during our journey back from Song to Sibu. This morning we took the 8.30 am boat to Song. Couldn't really see the 'scenic' Sg Rejang as half of the window is tinted. En Raman 'was seen' to be excited''' sitting beside a cute and fair sarawakian lady.... Sorry la En raman dah ada anak 2 daaa... She was heading to Song as
well to meet her hubby. Cute gak anak2 dia ni ....

Nothing much to do in the boat... The kungfu actions from Jackie Chan's movie DVD did not seem to attract most of the passengers and me. I was trying to close my eyes. I finally felt asleep..

We arrived Song at about 11.00 am. En RW was there together with En HB. I was actually 'touched' with what has been done by RW and HB and ppl involved in Song. They were at Song since Monday ensuring things to be under controlled and closely monitored. Once the event has been called off, they need to inform the community, the DO, the media, the govt agencies in Sibu etc etc... When we came, the supplier were busy mending the canopies and stage.

It happened that we met the DO. A nice man with a solid intention to bring basic infra to Song and its community. According to him, he is trying his best to build roads to connect Song and Kanowit which is merely around 43 km. But since Song is an 'island' (separated by Sg Rejang) , materials and logistic are the main problems that need to be significantly highlighted. We were further informed that to build a normal 1km 2 way road would cost a bomb! .... believe it or not RM10Million!!!. Despite all these, hasil bumi di Song masih dibawa keluar ... loggings are still widely practiced in Song...

So the event akan diteruskan esok but not the launching. Tomorrow would be a community event between BSN and the community in Song. The DO will deliver his speech in Iban. Hopefully when we come again for the real launching, the community and the relevant authority will still support us. So, instead of official launching, the event is now considered as one of our CSR activities. Cool huh?

Before we left Song, sempat la jugak makan di kedai favourite Bos di Song "Nasi Ayam Chemong' ... Looks nice... not to my taste actually...
Esok datang lagi....

Follow the flow... 2 hours boat ride to Song tomorrow.

Tried very hard to close my eyes...but they are not letting me go ....
Kama said this hotel is the best in SBW.... Still .... tak bole tido...Boss is asleep ... tightly. Must be very tired answering calls, explaining to people what happened early today. Yeah .. yeah I am still not satisfied ... Surfed the no. 1 carrier's website. Just now at 5.45 spoke to KG at the office. We need to change our flight. Need to go back Friday morning instead of Friday night. At least I have time to get things prepared for Sahur on Saturday. Yes.. we will start fasting this Saturday. From the website I gotto know that all tickets were sold out for flights on Friday morning. Looks like we have to be here as originally planned.

Tomorrow we will travel to Song. This would be the first time for Kama and En Raman. I told them even though the event has been cancelled, its wise for them to have a 'look' at Song, its area, ppl, the bank (the one and only) and the most important thing the preparation done for the event.

Guess with a visit from 4 of us, the ppl in cawangan won't be that terkilan la. So we are actually the representatives from the management. At least the ppl feel that they are appreciated and what they have done since last 2 weeks will be 'emotionally compensated'.

Kama is worried if he over slept tomorrow. I convinced him he can continue his sleep in the boat. We will be at the wharf and embark the 8.30 boat/ferry to Song. Hmmhhh half of the day tomorrow will be at Song and the journey to/from Sbw - Song - Sbw. Well... this is what has been planned. Just follow the flow...

Whatever it is I've bought Amir the Optimus - Transformers..DVD - The Ultimate Kid Games, Ultraman Gaia 8 in 1 collection and Upin & Ipin Episode 1-6. Hopefully these will keep him occupied and give me ways to watch news, movies and disc. channels from Astro....

Whose KPI is it anyway?

Last nite I was busy packing things. Getting ready, physically and emotionally to travel to Song, Sarawak. Even though I feel bad leaving hubby and Amir again. B** has complied with its mandated roles on 'financial inclusion' for all communities. This is to be my second trip to Song and we have planned on this launch event for quite some time.

This morning at the airport, I noticed that not everyone really cared to wear the face mask. Even though we were given a face mask each, I could only wear it for not less that 20 minutes! Yeah everyone is talking about this h1n1. Bukan tak takut. The fear is there.... but I am so rimas wearing the face mask. Only En Raman yang 'maintain' wearing the mask sampai boarding. As usual the flight was delayed again. Nearly 2 hours!

Semuanya seperti biasa sehinggakan penumpang2 yang lain kelihatan biasa sahaja ...(this applies to the flight delay as well.... haiyaa this has been a norm already. Can't the carrier do sumthin' bout this...)

We arrived SBW at 2.05 pm. Upon swithching the HP, boss noticed that there were so many missed calls from the Ministry's office. I didnt feel good hearing this. Called the SUS and passed to Boss. There you go! It happened ... again! This was my second experience. M*2 could not make it. I told myself why musn't this happened when we were still at LCCT, the flight was delayed... nearly 2 hours.... why must this happened when we just landed...not even crossing the immigration point at the airport!!! I was in the state of denial..

We were then informed that TM*1` will be replacing M*2 (I sighed with a relief). We then proceeded to check in to the hotel. The 'relief' could only stand for less than 2 hours when we were then told that TM*1 pun tak boleh datang. At that point of time I heard so many calls answered by boss. It seemed that the Ministry's ofc was trying their best to get a replacement. In short, after talking to CE1, answering calls, replying smses, the event was finally called off at the very last minute.... after all preparation has been done... after all arrangements have been put in placed... arghhhhhhhhhhhh....

Last 2 weeks when were informed that the Minister has agreed to 'mencemar duli' to Song, we were happy and thankful. All preparations, approval papers on budget, media arrangement were our priorities. Other work loads were set aside as this function was said to be more critical. 'Special attention' was given to this 'project'. Suppliers were called to undertake certain last minute jobs. People in KCW, Sbw and Song under Mr T**'s supervision have been working around the clock to ensure that the function will run smoothly. Even though 2 days before that, there were couple of 'unforeseen issues' from outsiders, we managed to stand for B**.

I met Kak Nor, Anarita and Mimi from Kuching at Cafe Nur Islamic just opposite RH Hotel. They were then informed on the postponement. I could feel their hard work wasted... can see from their face and their eyes... We cannot do anything... this is beyond our jurisdiction ... I know they have been looking fwd for this event... as for me and the rest of us we just want to get it over and done! Tutup buku and move forward!

After the discussion had with the Kcw girls on teh postponement.

I think boss has been trying her very best to ensure that this function is well managed. She even mentioned in her blog that hopefully this would be her last travel to Song. Well guess it's not Boss. Looks like we are coming again.

Not only that ... by managing the event well, we ensure that our KPI is tip top. I tried to get the media to come... to the extend getting them sponsored.. to ensure my KPI is in good hands.... Kama had to see a supplier last nite to collect the signing plaque, sending the invitation cards also to 'jaga; his KPI... En Raman kena usung kamera sana sini pun apart from designing the promo tools sebab nak make sure that by end of the year KPI tercapai. But when our efforts were just 'wasted' by a simple phone call on 'postponement' whose KPI is it anyway? A point to ponder huh?

More than just a box.

This morning I received a call from Fara (Zazen). That was actually a reminder call... I haven't gone to Zazen since my last training .. since 27 July. So Fara is actually reminding me "Hello ... when are you guys coming?" Frankly I have been losing weight after joining Zazen. Tapi takder la so drastic that people can immediately see the 'change'. I think I have lost 4kg so far. But that was not Zazen alone.. I have to control my diet as well. I have not been eating rice for a month. My jeans are all loose :) So I care less if people didn't notice the difference in me as long as I am healthy. Now, whenever I check my BP, its OPTIMAL! Previously it was always high normal.

When I first did my body weigh analysis with Zazen, it was a great fear to me. The analysis read: My body has less water (I think I have been drinking (plain water !) a lot), the fat is now solidly built in my body (so I have to work hard to reduce the fat and it may take some time), and bla bla bla (you wouldn't want to know).

I started Zazen on 2 July 2009. After one week I lost 1kg. After 10 seatings I further lost 2 kg.
It actually speed your metabolic process. My metabolic age was 60 when I first did my BMI). Now I am still controlling my diet. Surprisingly I am still alive! I thot' I would be dead if I were to avoid rice.....

Thought to continue Zazen in fasting month but the problem is when you are in the cabin, you would feel thirsty and takut dehydrated. But I insist to try ... you will never know. One thing for sure I am satisfied with Zazen but not with my current weight. More hard work and more strict diet regime need to be done.

Anyone who would like to try, please do. Its good for one's health. Losing weight is only part of the FIR functions. Its more than that... Its a Life Box!! For those who wanna know more pls visit www.zazenhealthsolutions.com/

Between kurma and Song ...

At the moment the office is quite busy. Some have to attend to the delivery of kurma stock which needs to be delivered by next week. Some have to prepare for Song's event launching on 21 August 2009. By the way my Boss has just updated me H1N1 in Sarawak is quite bad. So we are waiting for the announcement from the relevant authority in Swak whether or not we can proceed with this event (as this is apublic event).

Anyways for the kurma, we plan to settle everything by first week of puasa. So you can imagine we need to cater for all states and all Departments in HQ. Hopefully we will manage to clear the delivery as planned since the delivery of festive collaterals will be next. So sekarang ni bilik Director is full of kurma boxes. At the back of my working area pun dah ada CE1's kurma stock for the VIP.

Dalam pada sibuk-sibuk ni sempatla jugak bergambar. Tengok la En Raman yang menunjukkan gigi.... He is our graphic artist. So kalau ada event he will be the point for banner, backdrop and bunting designs. Semenjak Sally ada kira En Raman a bit relax in designing. But he has to monitor the website. And now the website is taken over by the E-Channel Dept. So at the moment he is a bit 'loose' ... itu yang buat muka cam tu dalam gambar.

Are we prepared?

Just read Jiji's informative explanation on H1N1. Seriously, I have the fear inside me as well. Just got back from Bandung early this week and now I'm having flu and coughing. Last 2 days went to do the check up. The doc said 'you don't have fever and your lung is clear, it's a normal flu." At first it was a relief and I told myself maybe I was too tired and haven't got enough rest after the trip.

But this 'wabak' like everyone knows has no specific symptom... and that is more scary.
About this antiviral... I am confused actually. My parents, during their visit to the clinic, were informed that the antiviral is available and the cost is RM75.00. On the other hand, Sally was informed that the antiviral can be taken anytime and the cost is RM200++. But in Sally's case, it was further mentioned to her that the antiviral will prevent one from having colds and will not really 'guarantee' one not to catch H1N1. So which is which?

Like Jiji said, the government or to be more specific the MOH should educate the public on this issue. I am sure everyone is panicking...

Last Thursday, early in the morning I got a call from Sally Goh. She was supposed to be one of the talents for festive collaterals' shooting on that day. Unfortunately she couldn't make it. She told me that one of B**'s staff has been diagnosed positive H1N1... and since she has been having flu for more than a week, she decided to cancel the shooting and went to do the medical screening. A good move ! But the B**'s branch in Taman LS has to be closed for 2 days. On the same day the BCP Committee held an urgent meeting on how to handle, curb and communicate this issue to the stakeholders, media and the staff. As for us in Corporate Affairs, we did what we have to do. Sent out the media release. Well... it appeared in all papers ... Anyways, who ever the staff is, I hope he/she will get well soon... God willing!

Next 2 weeks we will be launching our branch in Song Sarawak. It is supposed to be officiated by FM2. I was just on the phone with an Editor from The S***. We did ask the media to cover this event ... its a good angle actually since the branch in Song is a 'social branch'. But the Editor mentioned that she will need to scout for a reporter since the H1N1 is currently serious and she might have some difficulties to assign one... Gosh.... hope during the event, the media will turn up.. if not I'm a dead body!!!!

I pray that this pandemic will end soon. I just wonder if this were to happen to one of my family members, am I prepared to accept the worst? God knows!

Somehow or rather this is true ....

Bandung - 31 July - 3 August 2009.

Ayu sempat tersenyum di tangga Pasar Baru. Toys stuff to attract the children...

This boy offered shopping bags for sale. Sekali tengok this guy macam mat punk... nampak ganas tu. Tapi he was actually selling toy robots...

Strawberries anyone? Beg keliling pinggang untuk dijual ...

These are some pictures that I managed to capture (unprofessionally) with my Canon digital camera.

While some other parts in the world are biting with each other, sibuk bereformasi, kecoh tentang kematian legenda seperti Michael Jackson, those ppl in the pictures are struggling... berhempas pulas setiap hari to ensure that they meet their ends ... untuk sesuap nasi...

Irrespective of their age and gender, they approached almost everyone, persuading to buy the items at their hands. I saw Sally trying to hide her feelings by staring away from her.. I was trying to hold back my tears when I saw this.

So I made a conclusion that he is still schooling... maybe in form one.. and since Saturday is weekend (libur) so he did some extra job.. maybe to assist the family...

Deep in my heart .... Malaysia is still the best!

On the first day we were at Bandung ... we were chased by paparazi... hahahah...
They took our photos during our first point i.e Dapur Sangkuriang. They waited near the Pariwisata bus (i think this must be bas persiaran).. and expect us to buy the photos from them. well... I did... I looked nice in the photos hahaha...

Our shopping spree began at Grande, Donatello, Raffles, Herritage, Cascade, Rumah Mode which is famous for its branded and quality items , etc. While shopping I found this:
errr.... Mr Mogan since when did you produce this??

Yang 'cool’:-

Saya bersimpati dengan En Ramon aka En Raman dan Kak Su. Kak Su (En Raman’s wife) kena food poisoning lewat hari pertama kami sampai. Kesian Kak Su. Pada hari ketiga Mas Ari (our tourist guide) decided to send her to the nearest hospital. Alhamdulillah Kak Su nampak ceria tengahari tu...

Kak Ani aka 'Mak Lang' yang pandai bernyanyi... sedap wooo suara Kak Ani bila nyanyi lagu 'Kereta Lembu'...Kali pertama saya berjumpa Kak Ani di LCCT, I told myself “I like this woman”... Kak Ani teramat sporting, cool dan sempoi... Tapi Kak Ani did mention to me that dia sakit lutut. But one thing about Kak Ani, bila bershopping , she was just like me or Sally... hilang sakit lutut. Caya lu la Kak Ani. Turut menyertai Kak Ani - Kak Sukasiah aka Ibu, Kak Laila dan Ayu. At one time I tergelak tgk Ayu yang acap kali tidak dapat saiz untuk kasutnya....
Kak Laila pulak nampak macam tak happy.... then I gotto know Kak Laila is an adventurous person. Just like me, she likes snorkeling ... Ibu memang macam Ibu....

Kak Mid (“Arida jgn la panggil I puan.. panggil Mid ajer” this was specifically mentioned by Pn Hamidah. Kak Mid pun sporting. Siap nyanyi lagu Rossa dalam bas (karaoke). Tapi kesian Kak Mid, cameranya dicopet tanpa disedari. It was not the camera but the pics in the camera... especially when i was informed that gambar2 arwah ibu Kak Mid sebelum meninggal masih ada di dalam kamera tersebut... Takpe la Kak Mid.. Believe me there is always blessing in disguise.... Kak Mid was ‘challenged’ again when she 'joined' Kak Su ... food poisoning or ‘angin’. Tapi bila dah makan ubat from Kak Su, she was okay...Kak Mid berholiday dengan 2 lagi orang kakak...So sweet....

Kak Norpah ditemani oleh 2 orang anaknya. I was made undertsand that one of them will tie a knot soon. So Bandung was the right choice. Sebelum trip ni saya selalu terserempak ngan Kak Norpah dalam lif. Tapi tak pernah berbual. So after this I will make a point to at leasy say Hi to Kak Norpah... OK?

Kak Normah memang banyak celoteh dan banyak tanya sama Kang Ari bila kali pertama bersua. Kak Normah to me is a loving mother. She made a point to do some purchase for her sons and friends.

Adilla dengan future husband. Perhaps both of you can come again for your honeymoon. Dilla shopping beg ajer kat sini...

Frankly, I was glad to follow this trip. Kamariah aka Maya (nama glamour) from Delleven Tour has done a good job! Well done. I believe each and everyone of us enjoyed ourselves. The trip was excellent! Special thanks to Sally yang banyak bertungkus lumus to make sure this happen. It happenned Sally! Yuhooooo............. So you passed with flying colours.. even though during the last day you joined Kak Su and Kak Mid..... Believe me... Sally's drive for shopping really stunt me! Ye la... mana nak beli untuk anak, hubby, MIL, FIL, sahabat handai dan saudara mara....

Maya from Delleven Travel Sally the 'organizer'...

This is the photo that I like most. This girl was 'performing'... nyanyi lagu 'Ketahuan' Suara ngammm.... She sang for us when we stopped by a factory outlet near Cibaduyut. I think she must be around 11- 12 years of age.... Just like seniman jalanan ... we gave her tips for the 'superb performance'...

Banyak lagi gambar captured at Tangkuban Perahu. The tourist guide siap cerita asal usul the place.

Other photos:

We flew to KL from Bandung on 3 August... Nowadays beg pun kena bayar tambang. So i think Air Asia should change its tagline lagi.....
But I salute Lat sebab pergi balik pun dia tak check in the luggage...semuanya hand luggage.
Besides En Raman, Kak Ani and Rafidah kena bayar luggage fee yang 'lumayan'...
Rafidah, I think you should ask those ppl yang kirim kat you to share the luggage fee la...

Sesampai di LCCT, I was fetched by my hubby. The first thing that I asked from him.... no... no that one.... ... that one can.... but later ...

I wanted to have this actually :

teh tarikkk .....

So long ppl in Bandung... Some of you have touched my feelings in your own different ways......
Semuga ketemu lagi ya...
